Anitsa Connor

STAYING GROUNDED PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Anitsa is passionate about creating environments that bring people and communities together.

For more than 15 years, Anitsa ran the popular Self Preservation in Melbourne, which provided a welcoming space for a diversity of local and emerging artists to showcase their work. Anitsa’s own background is just as eclectic with experience working in Family Violence, hosting creative workshops, and training as well as hospitality.

Anitsa’s broad range of skills, experience and knowledge is underpinned by a strong ethical commitment to the Staying Grounded program. As a longtime advocate for structural and social change, particularly for women, Anitsa is excited to be working with women to develop skills and expertise that will provide pathways into meaningful employment.

In her spare time, Anitsa loves bringing people together in her kitchen to share food and connection, spending time with her wonderful and creative daughter and handcrafting her own range of jewellery.
