TUESDAY VOLUNTEER FOR OUR VOLUNTEERS (KITCHEN BASED)
We're looking for someone to organise the food and coffee for our volunteers on a Tuesday, starting around 10am and finishing around 2pm. Vollies come in for morning tea around 11am, coffee and snacks are provided, followed by lunch served at 1pm alongside our staff. Cleaning up after lunch and resetting the kitchen (or helping out our Staying Grounded program) would be appreciated so that the Cafe come in to a clean space on a Wednesday!
We are looking for someone who can join us on only Tuesdays, and we would consider multiple people on a rotation across a month. Please email hello@commongroundproject.com.au telling us why you think you'd make a great fit.
Why join our volunteering community?
Volunteer at the heart of connecting and empowering the community through food and farming.
Be inspired by and connect with Common Ground Project staff and volunteers who work and volunteer across our farm team, Food Hub, Education and Staying Grounded teams. We’re a dynamic team of chefs, farmers, educators, food systems thinkers and doers, passionate about transforming our local food system!
In-house training where suitable to support the volunteering position, with potential for paid opportunities as we continue to grow.
We’d love for you to have:
A passion for food and farming and keenness to embody Common Ground Project’s vision for a more resilient, fair and thriving regenerative farming and food ecosystem.
Experience preparing food! And a creative adaptable approach to preparing food, where leftovers and gluts of produce are prioritised (this will be a part of training so you know what you can use!).
Happy to volunteer around a number of staff and the team who might be executing different programs across the site.
Willingness to learn how to use the coffee machine in line with safe, clean barista processes, or previous barista experience.
A clean and organised approach, and a food handling certificate.
A current Victorian Working With Children Check (volunteer only required, which is free) prior to commencement as we have youth programs on Tuesdays.
