HEAD CHEF/KITCHEN SUPERVISOR

We're looking for a passionate chef to join our cafe team at Common Ground Project. Our cafe is a dynamic community space, with a daytime cafe offering, events and catering opportunities and weekend sessions over the summer months.
This role will lead the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, working closely with our BOH team, FOH team, farm team, Food Hub and social enterprise to prepare delicious, wholesome food for our community. The role will also work alongside and support our hospitality training and employment program, Staying Grounded, which provides meaningful employment for those facing barriers to employment in our community.

We’d love for you to have:
Experience working as head chef or kitchen supervisor, including managing orders, COGS and HACCP systems
Ambition to support a fabulous kitchen operation at Common Ground Project with passion and warm, friendly hospitality that brings the community together
A passion for sustainability and keenness to embody Common Ground Project’s vision for a more resilient, fair and thriving regenerative farming and food ecosystem
A genuine interest in working in a team environment, and supporting team members around you to thrive
A hands on attitude - this is a dynamic hospitality role, where you will have the chance to work across the whole organisation to support the day-to-day operations of Common Ground Project in addition to events and collaborations with the community

Common Ground Project is a regenerative farm, Food Hub and social enterprise that connects and empowers the community through food and farming. We exist to empower agency and access for those who need it most in the community so that we can cultivate a more resilient, fair and thriving regenerative farming and food system for all.
Our on-site venue is undergoing a transformation to become the epicentre of everything that we do at Common Ground Project, a community space and day-time cafe that not only serves delicious, simple and seasonal food, but also fosters community engagement and connection.
