Ariel Withnall
FARM AND FOOD HUB OFFICER
Growing up in beautiful Kabi Kabi country (Noosa, Queensland), Ariel’s childhood nurtured by nature seeded a life-long passion for for ecological, social and economic justice, working towards more connected and sustainable societies.
After completing a Bachelor’s Degree of Environmental Management minoring in International Relations, Ariel took a year to travel and explore the world’s complexity through the critical lens of ecopolitics. She conducted research on plastic pollution in the Himalayas of Nepal, cleaned marine debris from wildly remote coastlines only accessible by living off-grid on a sailboat, and led a food recovery program at a nature-based kids camp in the Netherlands.
Returning to Australia, she found home on the Surf Coast, drawn in by a community deeply passionate about ground-up, localised, and equitable food systems. In the moments in-between, you’ll find Ariel running, singing, writing, spending deep time with friends, and simply being in nature.
